Our Story: Forged by Dreams, Not Dynasty
In 2016, Asim and Pooja Anand traded their modest business in Delhi for a single chance at a new beginning. Landing in Vancouver with their son and daughter, they carried no generational jewellery legacy—only relentless grit and a shared belief that beauty could be built from scratch. The years that followed were etched in sacrifice: Asim took shifts at a downtown jewellery store, while Pooja balanced day and night. Their tiny apartment doubled as a homework zone for the kids and a sketch studio where dreams stubbornly took shape.
A turning point came in 2022, Pooja melted down her own necklace—a 24K gold heirloom from her grandmother—to craft seven delicate salmon pendants (symbolizing Vancouver’s spirit of perseverance) She shared them with friends. The response was electric: "You made the Pacific feel like home," one recipient tearfully shared.
2012
In that moment, *Anandam* (Sanskrit for "Bliss") was born. For three years, the Anands honed their craft after work hours in a East Vancouver studio space. Asim’s jewellery-store expertise fused with Pooja’s self-taught artistry, blending Indian symbolism with West Coast minimalism: intricate mandalas rendered in silver, ethically sourced BC jade set beside conflict-free diamonds. Every piece whispered resilience.
2025
In 2025, we launch Anandam Jewels—a testament to ordinary families achieving extraordinary things. Still Vancouver-crafted, still fueled by midnight oil and immigrant hope, we prove luxury isn’t about heritage—it’s about heart.
